LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

Real estate agents declare that the most important thing about buying property is location, location, location.

The crucial word for the Adult ADDer is organization, organization, organization.

One of the hallmarks of ADD/ADHD for both children and adults is a “lack of organization”.  It is imperative – without organization, the Adult ADDer will no doubt suffer from lost keys, unpaid bills, forgotten appointments, and generally feel overwhelmed by life’s stresses as well as the magnificent things that happen in life. It's just difficult to "cope" if you're ADD/ADHD

There is an excellent book out that I highly recommend. I have no monetary connection with the author or publisher. It’s definitely a great source for the Adult ADDer who is in need of assistance to become more organized and thus enjoy the journey of life.

ADD- Friendly Ways To Organize Your Life
Judith Kolberg & Kathleen Nadeau

Notes from the PACKRAT SYNDROME chapter:
Recognize that your packrat patterns may be due to ADD.
Plan a reason to organize.
Guard the door! Don’t let the clutter in.
Make throw-away/give-away into a daily habit.

 I especially like this one:
 Decide when “someday” is.

Notes from the REMEMBERING TO REMEMBER chapter:
Acknowledge your out of sight, out of mind tendency.
Make a short to-do list
Use a calendar or day planner.
Some ADDers like Palm Pilots – others just lose them.
